DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR FIRST DAY AT THE COMPANY? TELL US HOW IT WENT.
Of course, it was 14 October 2013. I immediately understood that the company was very large, I was in a slight “state of shock” because the name Streparava is very well known in the area, but then I managed to find my bearings.
HOW DID YOUR CAREER AT STREPARAVA DEVELOP?
I started as an engineering maintenance operative and I have been in this role ever since. The development aspect that I appreciated the most was that linked to the WCM theme: I particularly like the idea of being able to make tangible improvements to the process and the machine, instead of concentrating exclusively on repairing faults.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK AT THE COMPANY?
Innovation is the aspect that I like most, above all at the working islands. I am constantly stimulated by growth, and I always try to learn as much as possible, irrespective of my age.
This enables me to never stop.
WHICH WAS THE MOST REWARDING MOMENT?
Without doubt, the first Quick Kaizen awards in which I took part, because this provided concrete recognition of the application of my ideas in the field.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AS SOON AS YOU REACH THE COMPANY? AND WHICH RITUAL CAN YOU NEVER REFUSE?
The first thing that we do is the shift handover with our colleagues: how the previous shift went, how we should continue the tasks initiated by the others, and how to plan the activities.
The ritual that I absolutely cannot miss is reading the shift handover noticeboard, but I also like the more sociable moments of a coffee together before starting the shift.
TELL US A STORY THAT, IN YOUR OPINION, BEST DESCRIBES THE ATMOSPHERE ON THE JOB AT STREPARAVA.
The maintenance team is always “hands on”, and so it is difficult to identify a particular event that reveals the value of our team, because they are always episodes that make up part of our daily life.
COULD YOU TELL US ABOUT RELATIONS WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES?
Relations are very good. We are all very close and personally I get on with everyone. This year I am sadder because we are “losing” two colleagues who are retiring (Tomaso Zanni and Pierluigi Vezzoli, whom I personally thank): this is a very powerful emotion because they are the people who taught me most about the job and this company. It has been enjoyable to progress with them.
IS THERE A PRODUCT TO WHICH YOU ARE PARTICULARLY ATTACHED?
The Gefit line. This is the line that developed with me when I arrived, and, to solve the various technical problems that it had, I was closely involved with it for many months.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A PERSON WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE STREPARAVA TEAM?
The only advice that I feel able to give is to always be willing to learn, because age is not a limit, and it is a career development path: if a person wants to learn and accept new challenges, in that case he or she will be able to emerge in the corporate environment. The company needs this type of person.
