DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR FIRST DAY AT THE COMPANY? TELL US HOW IT WENT.
My first day at Streparava was also my first day in the world of work: the initial shock changed almost immediately into enthusiasm for facing this new challenge. Onboarding was more gradual than I would have imagined, even though I didn’t have any other work experience: the hardest task that I had to perform was trying to remember the names of all the people I met.
HOW DID YOUR CAREER AT STREPARAVA DEVELOP?
My career path was supported from the start by the experience of my heads and the passion of my colleagues, who gave me the right guidelines from technical, management and personal points of view. Every day I can see the progress in my development through my increasingly active involvement in corporate decisions and the constant interaction with my colleagues.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK AT THE COMPANY?
Every day is a new challenge, and without doubt there is no time to get bored: the thing that I like most is the satisfaction of being able to see, every day at Streparava, the contributions that I have made over the course of my career, whether these be connected to a particular technical solution, or to the training of people involved in production, providing help in solving a problem, or simply a spreadsheet. The feeling that, even just to a small degree, the company is also “mine”, induces me to develop further every day.
WHICH WAS THE MOST REWARDING MOMENT, AND WHICH WAS THE HARDEST?
Receiving compliments on my work from people whom I consider as role models in the professional sphere is without doubt the most rewarding thing. The hardest moment was when, through omission or superficiality, I made errors that disappointed the team, and that above all disappointed myself.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AS SOON AS YOU REACH THE COMPANY? AND WHICH RITUAL CAN YOU NEVER REFUSE?
Unfortunately, the first thing that I do as soon as I enter the office, in view of the current period, is to disinfect my workstation: I have spent most of my time at Streparava behind a surgical mask. The ritual that I can never refuse is the “round table” discussion with colleagues after the lunch break: at that moment we can improvise and become world experts in a variety of fields: automotive, economics, politics.
TELL US A STORY THAT, IN YOUR OPINION, BEST DESCRIBES THE ATMOSPHERE ON THE JOB AT STREPARAVA.
Following a recurrent technical machine stop, the whole extended working group dedicated their attention to the plant, everyone contributing with their own expertise, cooperating in order to solve the problem. Every idea was attentively accepted and analysed, until the root cause of the problem had been identified. The significant aspect was that this method of problem-solving was not an isolated episode, but one that was repeated for a number of projects.
COULD YOU TELL US ABOUT RELATIONS WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES?
For me, the serenity in the relations amongst colleagues that has developed in just a short time is of fundamental importance: this enables me to work in an optimum professional environment. There is always the chance to elicit a smile, even if this is hidden behind a mask, or a joke in front of the vending machine. These brief moments of relaxation nonetheless help maintain optimum concentration and productivity.
In the office, cooperation is at its highest levels, and discussions are always constructive, partly – and most importantly – due to the opportunity of sharing one’s personal sphere.
IS THERE A PRODUCT TO WHICH YOU ARE PARTICULARLY ATTACHED?
“You never forget your first love”: the product to which I am particularly attached is also the first product with which I was involved. Amongst highs and lows, love and hate, problems and satisfaction, I am referring to the AMG wheel group, on which I concentrated my efforts from the start, and from which I was able to learn some important lessons.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A PERSON WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE STREPARAVA TEAM?
Asking the right questions is often more important than providing the right answers. It is not important to join Streparava knowing the answers to all the problems: rather, it is important to join the company with the attitude of wishing to solve them as best as possible.
